The Peach Standard · The Return

Close the record

Coverage is not complete when the proceeding ends. The file returns with the result, known deadlines, material documents, open issues, and next actions clearly identified.

The complete handoff

Where this stage sits in the process.

Purpose

Why this stage matters.

The return allows the primary firm to resume control quickly, update the client, protect deadlines, and decide strategy without reconstructing the proceeding from scattered communications.

What the requesting firm should provide

  • A designated recipient and preferred format for the appearance report
  • Instructions for urgent rulings, settlement developments, or same-day escalation
  • A secure destination for notes, marked exhibits, orders, receipts, and vendor materials
  • Who is responsible for transcript orders, proposed orders, filings, service, and follow-up
  • Any internal reporting, client-update, carrier, or billing requirements
  • Confirmation of who will calendar and independently verify every returned deadline

Questions Peach must resolve

  • What happened, and what material ruling, testimony, offer, or direction controls next?
  • Which deadlines and obligations require immediate calendaring or verification?
  • What remains unresolved, and who owns each follow-up task?

Information

No guessing

Control

Defined authority

The primary firm retains strategic control while assigned counsel operates within the accepted role.

Accountability

A documented handoff

Responsibilities, decisions, deadlines, and deliverables are made visible to the people managing the file.

Stage outcome

What this stage should produce

A substantive return report with material events, results, rulings, testimony or negotiations as applicable, known deadlines, documents, unresolved items, and recommended next steps.

Coverage with command
